CYT (Christian Youth Theater) is a music theater arts training organization that provides arts education and performance opportunities for students ages 8-18.
CYT was founded in 1981 by Paul and Sheryl Russell in San Diego, CA as a theater arts training program for students ages 6-18. Their goal was to provide quality family entertainment for the community and promote Judeo-Christian values. What was once a San Diego community youth theater comprised of volunteers, is now a nationwide theater arts training program. CYT has over 20 locations across the country teaching more than 10,000 students per year.
CYT Spokane was the first branch to locate outside San Diego in 1998.
