Congratulations to 130 CYT Students!

This past weekend we had 130 CYT students come out for auditions for Seussical. What an awesome turnout! I would like to congratulate ALL of you for showing up. It takes courage to audition and while the decision process can be difficult when almost half are not cast, you have all taken great steps of success. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your inspiration this weekend!

CYT Student, Morgan Keene wins Spokane’s Got Talent!

Congratulations to Morgan Keene, 13 years old, who recently won the 2010 Spokane’s Got Talent! Morgan, performed to a sold out crowd at the Bing Crosby Theater, along with 19 other finalists, and won an all-expense paid trip to the Northwest Region America’s Got Talent auditions,  Red Eye Promotions premiere marketing package, photoshoot with Savage Unlimited Photography, studio recording with Perfechter Productions and a music distribution package through Insyders Music.

Yesterday, we sat down to chat with Morgan.

CYT Spokane:  What song did you choose to perform for Spokane’s Got Talent and why did you choose it?

Morgan:  I chose “Gimme, Gimme” from Thoroughly Modern Millie. I chose it because my piano teacher showed it to me. I was going to use it for an audition song but didn’t. I like it because it’s a belting song and I like singing loud.

CYT:  How did you feel competing with so many talented people?

M:  I thought it was cool to meet them and be with people who were doing what they love.

CYT:  You’re going to the Northwest Region America’s Got Talent auditions. What are you looking forward to the most?

M:  The opportunity to sing in front of that many people. I love it!

CYT:  What do you want to do when you grow up?

M:  I want to be a lot of things. I singer, an actress, TV, Broadway.

CYT:  How do you do it all?

M:  Piano and voice lessons. Also, it’s a God-annointed thing.
